Members of the media are welcome to varsity athletic contests for all Avon High School sporting events. A member of the media is defined as an employee of a digital or print media company, who is assigned to cover local high school athletics, or an approved member of the Avon Booster Club who serves as the team photographer. Members of the media must adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. All members of the media should submit a request to cover an AHS athletic contest, by emailing Tim Filon, Director of Athletics at [email protected], at least twelve hours prior to the start of the athletic contest. A credential will be issued, in the form of an approval email from Tim Filon.

  3. All members of the media, who are using photo or video equipment to capture images or video, must remain on the opposite sideline from team benches, and remain at least 6 feet from the field/court boundary line at any of our facilities.
  4. Any member of the media who fails to follow these procedures, as well as other published procedures of Avon Public Schools shall have their credentials revoked, and a supervisor will be notified.

Opposing School Spectators

Parents/guardians and students from the opposing schools will be permitted to attend athletic contests this fall. Only team members, coaches, officials and school administration will be permitted on the turf or track areas during games. This information will be shared with all opposing school athletic departments for dissemination.

All coaches will take attendance via a google sheet daily. This will enable the school administration to facilitate contact tracing much more efficiently if needed.

*If a student is not feeling well, they should inform their coach and not attend practice.

Game Schedules

All team schedules will be sent out from each head coach at the beginning of the season. Please visit www.casciac.org to see full team schedules as well. You may also follow us on Twitter at @AHS_Falcons for daily event schedules or updates.

Transportation

If a student has a valid drivers license, they may drive to home games/practices at off site venues in the Town of Avon only (Fisher Meadows, Blue Fox Run, etc.) All students must ride a bus to and from an away game unless they are transported directly by their parent or guardian. Please make sure that a request to transport form the athletic website is filled out and submitted in advance to the head coach and Athletics Office. If a student drives to a sports site in town, they cannot have any passengers with them unless it's a sibling. No friends, neighbors, etc.

Water Bottles

Players should bring their own water bottles and can refill them in the building. No team water jugs can be used until further notice.

Hand Sanitizer

Student athletes should bring their own hand sanitizer daily.

Equipment Sanitizing
