AHS ATHLETICS SPECTATOR (FALCONATICS) FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

- BE LOUD, BUT NOT DISRESPECTFUL.
- NO PROFANITY OR DEROGATORY COMMENTS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED.
- SENIOR CLASS MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE SHOULD DO THEIR PART TO MAKE SURE BEHAVIOR IS APPROPRIATE AND LEAD BY EXAMPLE.
- IF YOU WANT TO IMPLEMENT A NEW CHEER, IT MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR.
- NO SIGNS, NOISE MAKERS OR FLAGS WILL BE PERMITTED WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR.
- ALL MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT SECTION WHO ATTEND ATHLETIC EVENTS MUST REPRESENT OUR STUDENT BODY, SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY IN A POSITIVE MANNER AT ALL TIMES. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE GUIDELINES WILL RESULT IN THE SUSPENSION TO ATTEND ANY ATHLETIC CONTESTS, HOME OR AWAY, FOR A SIGNIFICANT PERIOD OF TIME. THE SUPSENSION LENGTH WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
First Offense: Two week suspension from any home or away athletic contest.
Second Offense: Four week suspension from home or away athletic contests.
Third Offense: Suspended for the remainder of the school year from all athletic events home or away.
- ALL SPECTATORS MUST STAY OFF OF THE PLAYING AREA (TURF/GRASS, TRACK, ICE RINK, GYM FLOOR, ETC…) BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER ATHLETIC CONTESTS.
- COME SUPPORT YOUR CLASSMATES IN A POSITIVE WAY AND HAVE FUN!

In an effort to maintain proper social distancing for spectators during athletic events, the Athletic Department has set forth the following guidelines for the fall 2021 athletic season:
Media
Members of the media are welcome to varsity athletic contests for all Avon High School sporting events. A member of the media is defined as an employee of a digital or print media company, who is assigned to cover local high school athletics, or an approved member of the Avon Booster Club who serves as the team photographer. Members of the media must adhere to the following guidelines:
- All members of the media should submit a request to cover an AHS athletic contest, by emailing Tim Filon, Director of Athletics at [email protected], at least twelve hours prior to the start of the athletic contest. A credential will be issued, in the form of an approval email from Tim Filon.
- All members of the media must wear a company issued Identification Badge, and should check in with game staff upon arrival. Members of the media should be prepared to show the credential email from Tim Filon upon request.
- All members of the media, who are using photo or video equipment to capture images or video, must remain on the opposite sideline from team benches, and remain at least 6 feet from the field/court boundary line at any of our facilities.
- Any member of the media who fails to follow these procedures, as well as other published procedures of Avon Public Schools shall have their credentials revoked, and a supervisor will be notified.
Opposing School Spectators
Parents/guardians and students from the opposing schools will be permitted to attend athletic contests this fall. Only team members, coaches, officials and school administration will be permitted on the turf or track areas during games. This information will be shared with all opposing school athletic departments for dissemination.
Student Spectators
AHS students will be allowed to attend all home sporting events. If students do not adhere to CIAC Class Act Spectator Guidelines, they will be asked to leave the event by AHS event staff /security and not be allowed back for the remainder of the event.
AHS Stadium/Grass Field Hockey Field: (Football, Soccer and Field Hockey)
- All community members can attend home games.
- All spectators should sit in the marked bleacher areas only or stand along the fence line. Once the game has ended, all spectators must leave the facility immediately.
- All children in Grades 8 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to all AHS athletic events.
- Only coaches, officials, athletes and event staff approved by the athletic director can be on the track or inside the black fence area of the stadium. Cutting across the track and turf at halftime is not allowed.
- Failure to adhere to any spectator guidelines will result in removal from the event by AHS staff or security.

AHS Gymnasium: (Volleyball)
All spectators are welcomed. No noise makers allowed.
Fisher Meadows: (Soccer, Softball and Cross Country)
Soccer spectators must be no closer than 10 feet from the sidelines on all fields.
Crew: (Off Site Race Venues)
The coaching staff will inform parents of specific guidelines based on the location of the teams race or regatta.
Blue Fox Run: (Boys Golf)
The spectators' rules for Blue Fox Run are completely at the discretion of the course management. Coaches will inform parents prior to matches of their decision.
Attendance
All coaches will take attendance via a google sheet daily. This will enable the school administration to facilitate contact tracing much more efficiently if needed.
*If a student is not feeling well, they should inform their coach and not attend practice.
Game Schedules
All team schedules will be sent out from each head coach at the beginning of the season. Please visit www.casciac.org to see full team schedules as well. You may also follow us on Twitter at @AHS_Falcons for daily event schedules or updates.
Transportation
If a student has a valid drivers license, they may drive to home games/practices at off site venues in the Town of Avon only (Fisher Meadows, Blue Fox Run, etc.) All students must ride a bus to and from an away game unless they are transported directly by their parent or guardian. Please make sure that a request to transport form the athletic website is filled out and submitted in advance to the head coach and Athletics Office. If a student drives to a sports site in town, they cannot have any passengers with them unless it's a sibling. No friends, neighbors, etc.
Water Bottles
Players should bring their own water bottles and can refill them in the building. No team water jugs can be used until further notice.
Hand Sanitizer
Student athletes should bring their own hand sanitizer daily.
Equipment Sanitizing
Coaches will have spray bottles of Clear Gear to sanitize all equipment before and after practice.
